Mike Breinin - Sleeper Fairmont Wagon

Best Time: 12.50s at 106 mph in the 1/4 mile

Here is a description of the wagon:
1981 Fairmont wagon, gutted to 2700 pounds without driver;
'95 Cobra short block;
B-303 Cam;
Ported and polished GT-40 Irons, 1.6 roller rockers;
Edelbrock Victor Junior;
Holley 650 DP and mechanical fuel pump with regulator;
Duraspark ignition (soon to be MSD 6AL);
Flowtech 1 5/8 longtubes;
Flowtech off road X-pipe;
MAC Flowpath chambered mufflers with dumps;
Z-spec T-5 tranny;
8.8 with Auburn Pro, Moser 31 spline axles, SVO girdle and 4.30 gears;
Southside Machine uppers and lowers;
90/10 front shocks and 50/50 rears;
Custom subframe connectors;
GT front suspension and brakes;
Manual rack;
Manual brakes;
No a/c, ps pump or fan!;
351 waterpump, modified (standard rotation);
Aluminum mini-spares with front runners and McCreary G60-15 out back on 10 holes (formerly black turbines).

Basically this is a no frills gutted beast. I drive it on the street regularly and it is a blast. This thing sounds incredible with the X-pipe, longtubes and MACs. It sounds like a Winston Cup car with a high pitched screaming tone.

I have not had it out to the track yet, however this same car with 200 more pounds, no suspension tricks, a 4.10 rear and a much milder motor (E7s, E cam, Stealth intake) went 12.50s at 106 so I am expecting low, low 12's to high 11's at around 112-115. This weekend should prove me right!!

Enjoy the pictures, this car is very much in the spirit of yours. Oh, and I know the air cleaner sucks but it is all that fits! The hood is jacked up 3 inches in the back for clearance and to release heat and air pressure and this is still all that fits.

Mike
