Driveline / Suspension / Chassis
I took the stock '82 Mustang lower and upper control arms and fabricated reinforcing plates for them. This is said to be good up to 400 HP. Once again fabricated at home with instructions from the Mustang Performance Handbook Vol. 2.
Anti-squat brackets sounded like a real good idea at the time but if I had it to do over I doubt that this modification is worth it. The rear view shows where the bracket is attached to the lower control arm mounting pad on the rear end housing. The purpose of this mod was to change the rear end geometry to hook better. The side view shows the spring perch I had to build to restore the ride height to the correct level.
I changed the front brakes to '87-'93 11" rotors w/ SS lines and caliper pins. This helps the braking a great deal, especially since I'm running manual brakes.
